Code of Conduct
The mission of the Farmington Northwood swim team is to promote participation and competitive swimming by providing a safe, enjoyable well-organized program in a sportsmanlike manner for young swimmers. Our goal is for your family to have a positive and fun team building experience.
Good sportsmanship: losing without complaining; winning without gloating; and respecting officials, teammates, and opponents.
Swimmers are both expected and required to conduct themselves respectfully towards all coaches, board members, meet officials/referees, parents, teammates and opposing teams. The FINS will not tolerate any poor sportsmanlike conduct to include booing, taunting, bullying etc.
TEAM attitude starts with parents’ thinking and trickles down to swimmers.
Parents: Please teach and remind your swimmers to.....
1. Respect their coaches - they are to be attentive, listen when the coach is speaking, and follow directions.
2. NO FOUL LANGUAGE OR GESTURES!
3. No sitting or hanging on the lane ropes at any time.
4. No RUNNING!
5. Appropriate swimwear required.
Girls: No two pieces/bikinis. Your suit should cover you appropriately. Absolutely NO THONGS! Please try to avoid cheeky bottoms and any sheer material.
Boys: If wearing swim briefs, please wear shorts, over the briefs, between events or while not actively practicing.
